GEO Fellows are mainly Masters level and PhD level students who participate as upcoming experts in the Global Environment Outlook process and its advocacy products (GEO-6 for Youth, GEO for Cities, GEO for Business). GEO and its related publications can be very useful for students by providing research and case studies on a variety of environmental issues.

GEO-6 is an assessment that reviews other literature on the state of environment and therefore lists a lot of literature that can help students identify key resources for specific topics. GEO is UNEP’s Flagship Assessment and therefore informs the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) and other intergovernmental processes where UNEP is involved. It can therefore be helpful to better understand the science diplomacy processes.
